Behold: My practical hands-on experience creating real-world Web sites. Feel free to visit any of them by simply clicking the images below.
I worked one-on-one with Fargo entertainer Johnny Jay to develop specific brand image and dynamic content. Used Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.
My favorite part of the site: The radio, using Flash and Actionscript. Johnny asked me if I could make "an old radio that you could click and hear me singing." When he saw the finished product, he said it was exactly as he had pictured it.
Website for Drs. Todd and Molly Ferguson, created with Dreamweaver as my class project for Introduction to Web Design Software. My first "real site."
My favorite part of the site: The prairie grass graphic along the top, taken by Dr. Todd himself. I had first used a banner of perfect green grass across the top, but Dr. Todd thought it looked "like a site for a lawn mowing company." The prairie grass does a much better job evoking a natural feeling that better corresponds with the philosophy of Prairie Naturopathic Doctors. Good call, Dr. Todd!
The site that started it all, begun in 2005 and maintained to this day by yours truly. Hosting by CatholicWeb is free provided you are a Catholic institution and use their software, EasyEdit. Unfortunately, I can't use CSS or other advanced techniques with this site, so it is quite simple, if not outdated. When time allows, I am able to customize it with a few hacks. All of that aside, it gets the ol' job done.
My favorite part of the site: Watching the site grow in usefulness over the years. Seeing all the hits (1,000-1,500 per month) and watching it become a mainstay of St. Joe's, with links to forms I created using Formsite.com, has been very rewarding.
